HAIM Freak Out Over Album Of The Year Grammy Nomination

HAIM released their exceptional third album Women In Music Pt. III over the summer, and the Recording Academy must have liked it just as much as fans, because it was nominated for Album of the Year, while its single "The Steps" received a nod for Best Rock Performance. After the 2021 Grammy nominations were unveiled Tuesday morning (November 24), the sisters took to Instagram to understandably freak out.

"ALBUM OF THE YEAR AND BEST ROCK PERFORMANCE NOM!?" they wrote alongside a screenshot of a FaceTime call with their parents. "and we finally know who our dad’s favorite is." (The writing on their dad's shirt is cropped to say "ESTE.")

This actually isn't the first time HAIM's been nominated for a Grammy. They also got a nod in 2015 for Best New Artist, but lost to Sam Smith. See their excited post below.

HAIM isn't the only rock-leaning act in the coveted Album Of The Year category — Coldplay's double album Everyday Life also received a nomination. Phoebe Bridgers also came up big with nominations in four categories — Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance ("Kyoto"), Best Rock Song ("Kyoto"), and Best Alternative Album (Punisher) — and Billie Eilish was nominated in five, including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for "Everything I Wanted."
