Virtual reality has come a long way since the beginning, and now you can experience the end in VR.
A new "death simulator" VR exhibit from artist Shaun Gladwell is open in Australia at the Melbourne Now festival. With "Passing Electrical Storms", you lay down on a hospital bed, put on the headset and go from cardiac arrest to brain death. You'll have doctors trying to bring you back and then you float out of your body.
For some people, it's too intense and they can't follow through with the whole experience. Can you blame them? Facing death isn't exactly everyone's idea of a good time but I think I'd at least try it. Also, can I have a better way to go? I don't want to have a heart attack and be in a hospital. Can I have it on an awesome roller coaster or while I'm sitting on a beach with a drink in my hand? I'd like to be doing something fun at least!
